Common questions

My recording didn’t upload — where is it?+

If an upload fails (offline, storage full), the extension keeps the clip and shows a notification: click the ClipCast toolbar icon to retry. If your storage is full, free space in your library — emptying the Trash reclaims space immediately — or upgrade your plan.

The keyboard shortcuts don’t do anything.+

Another extension has likely claimed the combo — Chrome silently leaves conflicting shortcuts unassigned. Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts, find ClipCast, and set your own combos for Start/stop, Screenshot, and Pause.

I deleted videos but my storage didn’t go down.+

Deleted clips sit in Trash for 30 days (so you can restore them) and still count toward storage until then. Open Trash and click "Empty trash" to free the space immediately.

How do I cancel or get a refund?+

Cancel any time from Settings → Billing — access continues to the end of the period. Every purchase has a 14-day no-questions refund: just send us a message below.

Is my data private?+

ClipCast only captures what you explicitly record, and clips are private until you share a link. Pro adds password protection and expiry. We never sell data — see the privacy policy for the full picture.

How do I sign out of the extension on a lost device?+

Settings → Security → "Sign out from extension". Every installed extension signed into your account is revoked within seconds of its next use.
